I personaly love the Samsung, but it has a high glare and I know it will drive my wife nuts! There is one more option as well. The LG 52inch Scarlet. I was not able to find any videos with it so that’s why it is not featured here.

Chime in and let me know which one I should go for.Similar Posts:

UPDATE: New version of Mobtropolis video now available!

Alrighty, I recently finished the video presentation from last months Ruby Meetup. After playing around with many different video services, I have decided to upload to Viddler.

Also, as you can see the video quality is not the best. Do any of you have some words of wisdom on compression settings or anything like that to make my life a bit easier? O yeah, and if anyone knows how to do that split screen action like Rails Envy has recently done… I’d like to know about that too.

And now… here is Wil Chung speaking about his social experiment, Mobtropolis.

So this is my experiment. I will add this post to Digg to see if it will have any effect on users to get not only ‘dugg’ but to see if someone actually will go and find a better video than what I have already seen.

I just watched this video of Merlin Mann, which I assume is from SXSW 2008. It would be fantastic to get a better copy with maybe less of the audience noise that’s keeping you from actually hearing the presentation. So lemmings… go forth and find me a better video! Um.. I mean please. Help me :-)

UPDATE: Apparently not! :-( At least for this article. It gained absolutely no diggs or any sort of traffic. O, well. So much for that experiment.Similar Posts:

Today comes the long awaited announcement of the now infamous gPho….wha?… there was no gPhone announced today! Turns out it wasn’t a phone at all, well I guess it depends on how you look at it.

This morning Google along with many other partners announced the Open Handset Alliance. What is this you say? Basically it’s a bunch of companies banding together to stop the insanity that is today’s mobile phone. The goal so far is to make your mobile handset work the way you think it should. The alliance consists of partners such Google (of course), Motorola, Qualcomm, HTC, T-Mobile and many others apparently totalling 30 at this point.

Android is the real key here as it’s basically an open framework consisting of an operating system, middleware and key mobile applications. This is a really exciting time for mobile phones. Essentially what I’ve always dreamed would happen. The only part I’m afraid of is that industry leaders have gotten behind large initiatives before and have still failed. Plus there is a ‘promotional’ video available that has got me a little confused. Are they using these little kids to explain the concept because it’s a no-brainer and should have been done already, or that it should all these companies are playing ‘nice’ together, or how about these are the kids that are actually going to be able to use this stuff by the time it comes out. Hopefully not the last option… plus they’ve said there will be an SDK sometime next week and handsets based on Android by second quarter 2008.
