Now I don’t know how much I agree with Portal being a perfect game, but damn was it well crafted. It’s short and to the point puzzle solving goodness. I don’t get to play a whole lot of games, but my fiancée went out to the movies one Saturday night and I got to actually finish Portal. It’s cool because every level gives you a little bit more challenge and a little bit more off-the-wall humor (which I thoroughly enjoy!). By the time my fiance came home, I was listening to the end credits song…which is awesome by the way. So yeah for me…I beat a game. Put that one on the board!

You know what else is awesome? This flash 2D version of Portal. I’ve been playing through my lunch break and am hooked!

So I’ve been getting a little back into gaming lately. I haven’t really played video games since I had my daughter. Now that she’s two… things are getting a little easier and I have a little extra time. Lately the laptop has been my game machine mostly because it’s with me when I have a little extra time. Although casual games run fine on it, I have a little trouble running stuff like Half-Life 2 on it sometimes.

Recently I formatted my desktop machine and went strictly Ubuntu. It worked out fine as my fiance really only tools around on the internet. However, I made the decision to go back to Windows XP. It’s the only way to get the games I really want to play.
