Update: No IMAP for you!

So I just wanted to let you all know that I did finally get the IMAP settings added to my Gmail account, but not in the way you would think. So if I view Gmail using Firefox as I always do anyway…I get nothing. However if I view Gmail while using Internet Explorer (Eck)… presto, chango… IMAP. Ironically it was turned on by default when I got there. Weird, but that’s how it happened.

Has anyone else experienced this? Also, since it was turned on by when I viewed it for the first time.. does this mean that people can try to configure Gmail for their favorite local client (Thunderbird, Outlook) without first seeing an option to turn IMAP on? Things that make you go hmmm. Some one should get around to trying that! Let me know what kind of results you get.

Well that’s about it for me… still waiting on my Gmail 2.0 :-(
